MOST RULE BREAKING CAN BE AVOIDED BY USING COMMON SENSE, PLEASE THINK BEFORE YOU POST AND SHOW SOME CONSIDERATION TOWARDS OTHERS.

Read these new updated rules, they will apply to the whole site ie. chat, forum and comments on pages/galleries.

1. Please do not bring up mature content, extreme violence or anything illegal such as drugs. We'd like to keep the site child friendly.

2. No flaming other people/websites. We understand that you can't be forced into liking everything/everyone but if you do encounter something you dislike, don't go out of your way to cause trouble.

3. No spamming, this includes going off topic, gravedigging, double posting, duplicate threads, overuse of emoticons or images, posting one word answers during discussions etc.

4. Using all capitals is allowed but please don't use them to "shout" at other members.

5. No foul language please, it has occured in the past where young people on the site have been kicked off by their parents after seeing just one innappropriate bit of text. This rule has always been in place so please respect it.

6. Please don't ask to be a mod or admin, it gets very annoying after a while, we decide who is worthy of managing the site and asking will only lessen your chances.

7. There is no precise signature limit, however if an image obstructs the forum layout, it will be removed. Remember, just because there is no real limit does not mean you can have a small animation that's over 1MB. We recommend under 70KB and no more than 3 images, unless they're small enough to be neatly presented.

8. If you're going to disagree with the admins, please don't be rude about it. We don't mind if you disagree with us or want to debate something. Respect us and our requests and we will respect you in return.

9. Speak in English only please! If the admins and mods are unable to understand words then we cannot moderate the forums or chat.

10. No advertising anywhere but the Website Advertising board! This means you cannot post links to random sites unless you are referencing or crediting. Please do not mass PM people to advertise your site, it's somewhat rude to assume that everyone is interested in clicking your links.

11. Creating a new account on TST when you already have one is HUGELY FROWNED UPON unless you absolutely have to! Anything you want to do on a new account can be done on the old one including changing your username if you ask an admin.

Rules Specifically for the Chat

12. The colours cyan, lime, yellow and white are forbidden. They are far too bright and unreadable. Also no font background colours.

13. Be patient, not everyone connected to the chat is available, don't start getting upset when no one responds, people might just be busy doing other things.

14. No clones, that means joining the chat more than once at same time.

15. No bots, only admins/mods can bring bots in and only for testing.

16. It is considered rude to randomly PM people without their permission first. You should ask people if they mind private conversations before jumping into one, unless you know for certain that they are ok with it.

17. Spamming is a debatable topic at TST. There are moments where we all get together and spam up the main channel. "Spam fests" are rare, completely random but a part of the TST community. Feel free to join in or leave to another topic for conversation as it honestly can't be helped when it starts (you'll know when it does). We try to keep it to a minimum, as in it's not anywhere near an everyday thing. Please don't be offended, it's not the end of the world.
People who intentionally spam to annoy everyone and won't stop when asked will probably be kicked and temporarily banned if it continues.

18. Respect other people's wishes. If they want you to leave them alone, please leave them alone.

19. Not essential but please, PLEASE try to avoid "text/chat speak" for example "i leik 2 tlk 2 ppl" it is very much frowned upon.

20. Don't ask or tell other people to join your channels. If people want to join, they will do so without you needing to ask.

21. Anyone caught nickname thieving or borrowing will get a warning first and a ban next.

22. If a troll walks in and starts causing trouble, STOP TALKING. Simple as that. If there are no mods around then just stop and they'll get bored if no one is speaking. If you argue back, you only add flames to the fire and you're likely to get into trouble.

23. Religious and political chat is now forbidden due to people not being able to control their emotions. Many users have been insulted and flamed for their beliefs, time to put a stop to this. Make a separate channel if you wish to debate.

24. If you register your nickname, use it! There are people who want certain names but can't have them due to "nick hoggers" taking them and never using them.

25. If anyone else is caught pretending to be someone else to deceive other members, they will be kicked off or banned.
